As part of the departmental seminar series organised by the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Aksu Çam delivered a presentation entitled “Urban Policy and the Housing Problem” on 21 April 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in Classroom B-202.

During the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem AKSU ÇAM, a faculty member of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, discussed the current dynamics of the housing problem within the framework of urban policies.

The presentation examined urbanisation processes, the transformation of housing policies, and problems concerning the right to housing. A comprehensive discussion was also held on the growing housing crisis in major cities, rising rents, and social housing policies. Furthermore, attention was drawn to the fact that the housing problem is not merely an economic issue but is also closely associated with social and spatial inequalities.

Organised as part of inter-university cooperation, the seminar concluded with an interactive session enriched by participants’ questions and contributions.
